I am 72 and have Medicare A and B.
Will Medicare pay for repair of a Femoral Hernia. If so, how much?
Is the surgeon allowed to charge me over and above what Medicare pays?

Medicare pays for most medically necessary procedures. I would have no way of knowing what the physician would charge. You need to ask the surgeon. Yes, they can charge you the 20% above the approved amount and must actually charge you that. Medicare does not allow providers to take their payment as payment in full
