QUESTION: My parents, in their 70's, are guardians of my aunt, 58 yrs, who has Down syndrome she was on Medicaid until my grandfather passed then they denied her because of a farm left in a trust for her, now what? She needs to be placed in a nursing home. The farm has been in family for 93 yrs we hate to loose it anything we can do? (the will was wrote in 1974 does that matter)they reside in MI. THANKS

Call 1-800-803-7174 and you will reach the MMAP office nearest you. Call them and request to speak with a MMAP counselor regarding Medicaid. In particular, If a farm in a trust is an accountable asset.
