Medicaid resposibility of estate

Question
My mother lives in Ohio and is on Medicaid.  She was told that some of her possession can be taken from her estate upon her death to pay back medical bills that Medicaid didn't pay.  Can you help me ease her worries?

Answer
Hi Dan

Congress passed a law several years ago for each State to adopt a recovery law to recover money paid out in Medicaid. Usually that pertains to the house.  However some

states put a lien on other things.  You can get that information from the case worker.
