Question
How can we get Keystone 65 to approve a treatment to shrink a liver tumor so a liver specialist can operate on my father? Keystone 65 keeps denying any treatments the dr suggests to attempt to shrink the tumor so he can operate. Since May of 2009 nothing has been done to help my father and who knows if the tumor continues to grow. He pays good money each month to have health insurance only when he actually needs it they deny him. He appealed, they denied, now the dr and a third party are appealing for him, but the longer this draws on the less time he has. Anything else we can do?
Answer
Hi Bonnie!
Appeals are the next step after a denial.
However you can always contact your insurance commissioner in your state however they usually have alot of calls and may take months to get back to you.
Perhaps call your local paper or news.......seems like something that is life threatening should be covered.
Good Luck!
