laparoscopic sergery

Question
hi, im 15 years old and i possibly have endometriosis. i have uncontrollable periods, and i am in serious pain. it may have spread to my intestines and i can barley pass stools and i am almost to the point where i cant push anymore. the only way to diagnose this is to get a laparoscopcy surgery. if i do indeed have it, they can also remove it. if i don't get this surgery soon, while i am young, i could become infertile. i may already be. this could also spread to other important organs, ans death has been reported. my mom had it so bad that she got ovarian cancer and had to have a radical hysterectomy. my family doesnt have much money right now, ha who does theses days anyway?  my question is, is does medicaide pay for this particular surgery?  please e mail me soon to answer my question, thank you so much.

Answer
Hi Morgan!

Medicaid will usually pay for surgeries that are medically necessary.  Each state has different guidelines on what they will pay and what they will not.

The only way to be 100% sure is to call Medicaid directly and ask them.  Or call your Dr and have them find out for you.  Usually before a surgery is done the Dr's office would call an insurance carrier to deem coverage.

Good Luck!
