Question
This will be in reference to my daughter. She has been mentally handicapped since birth. At 18 I signed her up for Medicaid because I couldn't afford her medical bills and meds. She has been on medicaid since then, she is now 26. She still lives at home with me and her mom. When I retired, social security said she could draw off my social security for income. So now she is going to have to go to medicare for her medical and medicines. I understand that this is automatic. Medicare enrolled her in conventional medicare and a part D drug plan. Today I received a letter from social security she will have $110.50 deducted from her SS check. I was told by Medicare that Medicaid will pickup the costs of her premiums and deductibles if she qualifies, but I can't find any one to help me to get this accomplished.
Answer
Hi William
Go to Medicare.gov====scroll and click on HOW TO FIND THE SHIP SERVICE IN YOUR STATE===click on your State name and you will get the phone number for the office in your State. Call them and request to speak to one of their counselors. They will walk you through the process and may even get you enrolled.
